There will always be some failed outsourcing attempts. Failed outsourcing can take many forms if a properly constructed relationship and contract are not developed. At the root of these failures is either a poorly constructed outsourcing business case (e.g. one that doesn’t take account of all considerations) that will drive a bad contractual relationship, or a business case based on metrics and drivers that are analytically correct but not appropriate to the situation.
